A woman remains in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Hulme.
Police say they were called to the scene of the collision, at the junction between Higher Cambridge Street and Boundary Street West, in the early hours of this morning. The woman was then taken to hospital.
It’s thought the driver of the car — a grey Volkswagen Polo — is ‘assisting’ police with enquiries. Detectives are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

PC Phil Drummond, from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "As our investigation progresses, our thoughts remain with the woman and her loved ones. Though the driver of the vehicle is assisting us with our enquiries, we are appealing to anyone with information or dash cam footage to share it with us."
Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741. Information can be shared anonymously via the independent charity - Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
