Relief was the overwhelming feeling for Manchester United goalscorer Vilde Boe Risa after she opened her league account in her side’s 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Goals from Hayley Ladd and Risa in either half saw United end their four-game winless run in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League at The People's Pension Stadium.
Risa came close to opening the scoring for the Red Devils on multiple occasions in the first half but was denied by a string of saves from Brighton goalkeeper Megan Walsh.
She finally beat Walsh in the 69th minute as United secured their first league win since October 3 and the 26-year-old Norwegian was glad she was able to convert one of her chances.
