A man is in hospital with 'serious injuries' after being found lying in the middle of a road in the early hours of this morning (February 12).
Patrolling police officers discovered the unnamed man in the Stretford area of Trafford at around 2.30am.
Greater Manchester Police later established he had been involved in a collision with a car on the A56 Chester Road, near the junction with Sydney Street.

The force said a 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He remained in custody for questioning on Saturday
No age for the victim has been released by police.
He's said to have suffered 'serious injuries' and remained in hospital today.
The incident led to the closure of the A56 from the A5145 Kingsway to Davyhulme Road East for several hours.
The road only reopened shortly before 9am.
Police said the man 'had been involved in a collision with a silver Ford Transit which had come from Edge Lane'.
In a statement today, GMP said: "A man has been arrested in connection with a serious collision in Trafford
"At around 2.30am on Saturday 12 February 2022, officers on patrol in the Stretford area found a male lay on Chester Road near the junction with Sydney Street.
"The male has been taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
"An investigation was launched and officers established that the male had been involved in a collision with a silver Ford Transit which had come from Edge Lane.
"A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
