Manchester City are believed to be stepping up their interest in Brazilian teenager Savio ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 17-year-old currently plays his club football for Atletico Mineiro in the Brazilian top flight.
The youngster has been making waves in the first team this season and his displays have caught the eye of Pep Guardiola's South American scouts.
According to Globo (via Sports Mole), City have proposed a transfer fee around the £8.4m mark for the teenager.
This is believed to have moved them ahead of Arsenal in the queue for Savio.
Meanwhile, reports in Germany continue to link City with a move for RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku.
Recent rumours have suggested that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the 24-year-old following a string of impressive performances in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
SportBild claim (also via SportWitness) that Guardiola is 'keen' on signing the Frenchman, with Leipzig understood to have valued him at €55m (£46m).
However, they add that City are also interested in Nkunku's teammate Josko Gvardiol.
The Croatian defender has reportedly been added to Pep's summer wish list and it is estimated that he would cost around €25m (£20.9m).
Away from transfer speculation, City return to Premier League action on Saturday evening when they host Tottenham in the late kick-off.
