A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel. The youngster died after a gunman burst through the door at her home on Kingsheath Avenue, Dovecot on August 22.
Police carried out warrants at three properties in the West Derby area earlier today, September 8. Officers have now arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender, who remains in custody for questioning.
Searches of the three properties are continuing. Four other men who were arrested and linked to the murder were conditionally bailed on Wednesday (September 7).

Detectives investigating the shooting had previously been given an extension to question three of the men arrested but they have since been released. One of the people bailed includes a 34-year-old man, from Runcorn, who had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The others released include a 34-year-old man, from Liverpool, a 41-year-old man, from Knowsley, and a 29-year-old man, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and questioned by police.
Olivia was at home with her mum and older siblings in Kingsheath Avenue, Dovecot, when a gunman burst through the door at around 10pm on Monday, August 22. The killer was in pursuit of 35-year-old Joseph Nee, who forced his way into the house after noticing Olivia's mum, 46-year-old Cheryl Korbel, open the door to see what was going on outside.
The investigation into Olivia's murder is ongoing and police said they still need to build up a strong evidential picture so they can bring those responsible to justice.
