Locals living in a landlocked town have been left confused by an artist's impressions of a brand new apartment complex. New drawings showed what the upcoming retirement development in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, is set to look like, with the rooms boasting 'stunning sea views'.
The marketing by Aspire Housing which showcased the £14 million over-55s complex Holborn Place left residents baffled as the Staffordshire town near Stoke-on-Trent is around 40 miles away from the seaside - therefore there will be no coastal views in sight.
Despite this, one picture shows an elderly man looking out to the ocean through his balcony doors, and another shows waves lapping the shore just a stone's throw away from the new four-storey red brick building.

Realistically in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Lyme Brook and a pool at Silverdale Country Park are the only water in close proximity to the site, reports StokeOnTrent Live.
One person joked that Aspire must have got confused with Newcastle in Australia which is positioned on the coast just north of Sydney.
Another local resident added: "Coastal erosion must be very bad if they have sea views."
Poking fun at their impressions, Farmeda Kosar, director of development and regeneration at Aspire Housing, insisted future residents would enjoy glorious views - just not of the sea.
"While you can't quite see the ocean from our upcoming Holborn Place development, the rooftop terrace will offer an amazing panoramic view of our historic town centre and beautiful Staffordshire countryside - which we hope the residents will enjoy just as much," Farmeda said.
