Christian Eriksen has verbally agreed to sign for Manchester United and he now looks set to become Erik ten Hag’s first midfield recruit.
The new boss is eager to restock his midfield after a mass exodus this summer. Many expected number one target Frenkie de Jong to be the first face through the door, but instead it has been left-back Tyrell Malacia.
Midfielder Andreas Pereira also now looks set to depart Old Trafford, while James Garner 's short-term future is still up in the air after a wonderful promotion season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

That said, Donny van de Beek arrives back from his Everton stay with many fans hoping he can rekindle his Ajax form under his former manager at United. Like Van de Beek, Eriksen enjoyed time in the Ajax academy as a youngster and his short time with Brentford last season has shown he still has what it takes to make an impact at the top level.
After joining in January, he grabbed four assists and a goal while displaying his undeniable quality just seven months after his Euro 2020 cardiac arrest. His acquisition, former United winger Lee Sharpe says, would be a wise one.
Explaining to SpilXperten what Eriksen would bring to the team, he said: " Christian Eriksen is the sort of player you give a little bit of freedom to. He’s a very good and clever player.
“He brings plenty of creativity, a few goals, a lot of experience and he’s going to be a great addition to the squad. I think it’s about getting the ball to him and making sure he gets the ball in the right areas and high enough up on the pitch that he can make an impact in the games. He’ll create chances.
