Millie Gibson has admitted to being a 'wreck' as she spoke about her final days on the cobbles. The actress has played Kelly Neelan in Coronation Street for three years but will bow out of the ITV soap in dramatic scenes set to air during a special 'Super Soap Week' this month.
Her exit from the soap was rumoured last month and was eventually confirmed by the soap's boss Iain MacLeod when he spoke to the Manchester Evening News and other press about what is to come this September, and autumn, in Weatherfield. And because Millie has made the decision to leave, Corrie hasn't held back on her exit.
"We thought the fact that Millie is going and therefore Kelly’s going allows us to go really big and do something incredibly high stakes and to get these characters to stand on these landmines with buried for them over the years and will go off in one cataclysmic explosion,” Iain revealed to us.

Speaking about what happens to Kelly when she finds out the truth from Sharon, her dad's former sidekick at the loan shark's office, Millie said: "She doesn't know what to do with herself and you eventually see this cold… almost like her dad’s coming into her personality. You sort of see her starting to turn into Rick Neelan in that sense and it’s a completely new personality for her. It’s really bad."
And it was very emotional for Millie to film, alongside Mikey North who plays Gary. "I’ve been a wreck,” the 18-year-old from Broadbottom, said of filming her final scenes. “There was a good two weeks where I was crying constantly because I think I was just so overwhelmed and so grateful
