Sonia Audrey Ashton (née Naylor)
Born 30.04.1933, died peacefully on 23.03.2022. Wife of the late John Theodore, mother to Lesley and Tina. Sonia grew up in Didsbury and lived for most of her life in Hazel Grove.
In 1955, Sonia and fellow student, Eleanor, were proud to be the first women ever to be awarded first class honours degrees in Anatomy from Manchester University.
Sonia worked as a Senior Cervical Cytologist at the Christie Hospital in Manchester for 20 years, where she helped to save the lives of many women from cervical cancer.
Sonia will be sadly missed by Lesley, Tina and their families. Funeral at 12.30pm on Thursday 28th April at Norbury Parish Church, Hazel Grove. Family flowers only.

Raymond (Ray) Fleming
Suddenly passed away at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth on Thursday 3rd March 2022, aged 86 years, of Altarnun. Beloved Husband of the late Sue. Much loved Dad, 'Super Gramps' and Great Gramps.
Funeral service will take place at the Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin, on Friday 22nd April 2022, at 2.30pm.
