Manchester United duo Facundo Pellistri and Fred each claimed assists as the June internationals exploded into life on Thursday evening.
Five United five players were in action on Thursday night, as nations continue to put preparations in place ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year. And Pellistri — who has struggled to earn opportunities on loan at Alaves in La Liga this term — continued his impressive form for Uruguay, claiming an assist to help them beat Mexico 3-0 in a friendly.
The United youngster, 20, provided an assist within less than a minute of the second-half to tee up outgoing Reds' striker Edinson Cavani for his first goal of the contest. Pellistri burst down the right-wing, left Jesus Angulo staring at the turf and picked out Cavani to stroke home with ease.
