A haul of weapons and drugs were seized from an Audi in Bolton after it was seen racing through the streets with a Mercedes-Benz. Knives and cannabis were among the items seized by officers after pulling over the grey Audi A3.
Greater Manchester Police says the car had been brought to officers' attention when it was seen racing against a black Mercedes through Farnworth. Specialist road policing officers were able to bring the Audi to a halt in Kearsley and block the car in.
GMP says the driver attempted to make a getaway from the scene once the car had been stopped, but officers were able to detain the offender. Police checked the vehicle, where they discovered a number of weapons, including two large knives and an axe.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article, possession of cannabis and driving under the influence of cannabis. Images from the scene and details of what was found in the car were shared by GMP this morning (June 25).
In a post on Twitter, a spokesperson for GMP Traffic wrote: "The Audi A3 was seen racing with a black Mercedes in Farnworth, blocked in by SRT Tasking Team patrols in Kearsley as he tried to make off, the driver would be arrested for possession of offensive weapon, bladed article, cannabis and failed drugs test + cannabis #fatal4."
