The family of Yousef Makki have described the tears and sense of devastation they felt after an inquest they campaigned for failed to reach any firm conclusion about his fatal stabbing.
But they also say they feel grateful they got their day in court to restore Yousef's image - that he was finally portrayed as a 'peacemaker' rather than a wannabe gangster.
Senior South Manchester Coroner Alison Mutch said she could not safely conclude the death was either unlawful or accidental, instead recording a narrative verdict following a seven-day inquest at Stockport Coroners' Court.
