Everything had seemed normal when Tom Peake woke up at his Stockport home on Sunday morning. But as the 34-year-old checked footage from his doorbell camera, he realised a surprise visitor had been sleeping in his front garden.
Tom installed the camera outside his home, in Bredbury, after his van had been broken into earlier this year. "I got it for security reasons, but it's more for comedy value now," he joked.
It was only when Tom checked the footage from his camera earlier today (August 14) that he realised a drunken reveller had enjoyed a nap in his front garden. Tom believes the man was asleep outside his home for around an hour.

He says the man can be seen stumbling as he tries to get up, before eventually making it out of the garden. Tom has lived at the property for six years, but says the camera has shone a new light on his street which he previously hadn't seen.
"I seem to have a lot of funny things happening on my camera," said Tom. "There are a few pubs further into the village and people seem to walk back past my house.
"I've had people falling over right outside, but it's the first time someone has fallen asleep in the garden."
