Jurors in the trial of Ryan Giggs have now heard all the evidence in the case, after a large number of messages, poems and love letters were revealed. Mr Giggs, 48, has pleaded not guilty to displaying controlling or coercive behaviour towards ex-partner Kate Greville, assault occasioning actual bodily harm of Kate Greville, and assault by beating of Emma Greville.
In the second week of the trial, heard at Manchester Crown Court, Mr Giggs gave evidence from the witness box over three days, in which he admitted to being a ‘love cheat’ and that he had ‘never been faithful’, but he denied assault and controlling behaviour.
Sir Alex Ferguson also gave evidence in which he told jurors that Mr Giggs had a ‘fantastic temperament’ and said he ‘never saw him lose his temper’.
