Nine men and a woman have been charged with drugs, firearms and money laundering offences after police raids. All 10 are appearing before Manchester magistrates' court today - Thursday.
An investigation into the suspected supply of drugs between the region and Whitby, North Yorkshire, was launched in December last year by detectives from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU).
Together with North Yorkshire Police, Cheshire Police and Greater Manchester Police, they executed warrants at a number of addresses in dawn swoops on Wednesday. Suspected drugs, cash and mobile phones were recovered, police said.
Jack Blaney, 27, of Teddington Road, Moston, has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs; money laundering; conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another to do so; conspiracy to sell, transfer prohibited ammunition; possession of prohibited items within a prison and disqualified driving.
Richard Morgan, 38, of Talbot Road, Hyde; Dale Blaney, 36, of Cranfield Close, Miles Platting; Joshua Carter, 28, of Margaret House, Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside; Joshua Dolan, 31, of Auckland Way, Whitby and Adam Evett, 27 of Abbotts Way, Whitby, have all been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs.
Joseph Mennell, 27, of Longdale Drive, Hattersley, Tameside; Rebecca Wilde, 26, of Silverdale Avenue, Denton, and Declan Barton, 27, of Levens Street, Moston, have all been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and money laundering
Stephen Howard, 31, of Spital Bridge, Whitby, has been charged with conspiracy supply class A and B drugs; conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another to do so and conspiracy
