A man has been charged with the murder of Zara Aleena in east London.
Graduate Zara, 35, was found with head injuries on Cranbrook Road in Ilford in the early hours of the morning on Sunday (June 26). She was taken to hospital, but tragically died later that morning.
An investigation was launched by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. Jordan McSweeney, 29, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with her murder.

He has also been charged with attempted rape and robbery, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. McSweeney will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court today (June 29).
Following her death, Zara was described by friends as a 'kind soul'. “Always polite, always bubbly, the sweetest girl that you could ever meet really. So much going for her", friend Sophie told the BBC News.
