Love Island star Jacques O'Neill has returned to social media after sharing a statement apologising for his behaviour during his time in the villa and upon leaving Spain. The former rugby star quit the ITV2 dating show last month in one of the most emotional moments in the 2022 series.

In the statement fellow Islander Gemma Owen's ex-boyfriend said "there is work that needs to be done on myself" and that he is "not asking for sympathy." Jacques' statement came after fellow Islander Remi Lambert made a post in which he claimed he felt picked on by Jacques and Luca Bish.

Jacques left Castleford Tigers in west Yorkshire to go on the ITV2 reality show in June and so was delighted to join them for their win over Catalans Dragons.
