Five of Emmerdale's very own leading ladies couldn't look further away from their characters after undergoing a 70s-inspirded makeover. Jessie Elland, Rosie Bentham, Katie Hill, Daisy Campbell and Karene Peter stepped back in time with a stylised photoshoot to mark the ITV soap's upcoming anniversary.
The soap actresses donned vintage-style outfits to pay homage to 1972, the year Emmerdale first aired. This Sunday, October 16, Emmerdale will air a special hour-long episode on what will mark its 50th anniversary on air. But don't be expecting cake and celebrations as its all high-drama and leading to possible exits.
It was revealed back in August that the fictional Yorkshire village of Emmerdale will never be the same again after this month as a wind storm shakes up life in the Dales for every single resident. And Kim Tate and Will Taylor's wedding will kickstart all the drama that's to come this weekend.

And last week Jane Hudson, Emmerdale's Executive Producer, has now revealed a little bit more about what's to come and appears to have confirmed a first in the show's five-decade history - a cow stampede. Jane also revealed that the natural disaster will test not only the much-loved characters' physical strength but also their mental capabilities.
