A man has been charged after a violent burglary at a home in Altrincham.
Police were called to Lloyd Gardens on Sunday (August 14) after a man, brandishing a bladed weapon, reportedly knocked on the door of a house and burst in. He demanded to speak to the homeowner, officers said.
When he realised the person he wanted to speak was not home, the suspect fled the scene. Police then worked to track down the 'highly dangerous individual'.

Jason Edwards, 40, of Marthall Drive, Sale, was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning following the incident. He has now been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and aggravated burglary.
Edwards will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Trafford officers detained and charged a 35-year-old man with possession of an offensive weapon and aggravated burglary following an incident that took place on Sunday 14 August in Altrincham, Manchester.
"Jason Edwards (DOB: 20/04/1987) from Marthall Drive, Sale was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning (15 August). He was detained in police custody and has since been charged with the offence.
"The investigation was launched by our Trafford Criminal Investigation Department following reports that a man concealing a bladed weapon had gone to an address in Lloyd Gardens, Altrincham. The victim reported that the man had knocked on the door and, when her friend opened it, he had entered her property brandishing the weapon and demanding to speak to the homeowner.
