Google has strengthened its Gemini conversational AI platform, introducing a slew of new features and enhancements aimed at boosting user experience.
Gemini is a conversational AI platform similar to ChatGPT, developed by Google, designed to assist users with a range of tasks, including generating text and answering questions.
The updates, which were unveiled in a statement recently, include the launch of Gemini 1.5 Flash, which promises faster and more accurate responses in the free tier, along with improved quality and latency.
These updates are now live on both the web and mobile platforms, supporting 40 languages and over 230 countries and territories.
The search engine giant disclosed that the context window had also been expanded to 32K tokens, allowing for more complex and in-depth interactions with Gemini.
Other key enhancements include improved features to tackle hallucinations, an expanded Gemini for Teens experience, and broader availability of the mobile app.
The Vice President of Engineering, Gemini, Amar Subramanya, noted, “Earlier this year, we introduced the ability to chat with Gemini directly in Google Messages on select Android devices.”
He stated that users would soon have the capability to upload files from Google Drive or their devices, which would enhance functionalities such as creating practice questions or analysing data files.
Further, Google is introducing a feature to display related content links within Gemini’s responses, facilitating easier access to additional resources and information verification.
The platform’s double-check feature will also be enhanced, using Google Search to highlight corroborated or contradicted statements and ensure accuracy.
