A Manchester-based influencer has gone viral on TikTok after warning people not to move to Manchester and branding the city's rental market 'ridiculous'.
Jess Geary, 25, filmed the angry video after three months of searching for a flat in the city centre - to no avail. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , she said she had only managed to get one viewing during that entire time period - which took place this afternoon. She will be left without somewhere to live if she cannot find a flat within the next week.
She said flat advertisements are taken down 'within minutes' and soaring rents mean she - along with many other young people - are being priced out of the city centre.

"This is a public service announcement from me to you - don't move to Manchester!" she tells her viewers in the viral video. "There's no flats, there's no flats available.
"I'm going to be homeless in the next week. I've been on the phone every day, I've had no sleep, I've not ate."
Jess told the MEN she currently lives in a two-bed flat the Green Quarter but decided to move after her landlord upped her rent by £300 - taking it from £1,000pcm to £1,300pcm. But she hadn't anticipated the 'nightmare' three month flat hunt that she has been on since and says if she didn't work in Manchester city centre, she wouldn't be trying to move there.
"Don't move to Manchester city centre right now if you have a choice," she said. "It's ridiculous. I can't afford to pay £1,400 for a flat, and that's not even thinking about bills or anything like that."
