The driver of a Skoda Octavia found slumped unconscious over the wheel of his car at traffic lights off the M60 motorway has been arrested.
Shocked GMP officers came across the driver in the early hours of this (Friday) morning at the Snipe Interchange, at the lights that feed traffic on to the M60 motorway at Junction 23 for Ashton. The driver was woken and asked to supply a breathalyser sample.
He was arrested by officers when the test results showed that he was more than double the 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath limit permitted in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The motorist was taken into police custody and his car was moved to a parking bay near the Scapa building at Snipe Retail Park before being impounded.
