It seems Coronation Street is the most romantic place to be next week as Sean Tully finds a new love interest. At number 11 Eileen Grimshaw guesses Sean is pining for Laurence, a handsome dentist he recently met at a wake.
George Shuttleworth's sister Glenda vows to hunt him down on Sean’s behalf. George admires his sister’s chutzpah while Eileen is mildly irritated. Later George is surprised to find Laurence hanging about outside the undertakers and he informs Sean he’s bagged him a date.
Glenda and Mary Taylor are thrilled, while Sean's son Dylan reckons he can’t be any worse than his ex Frank. As Laurence waits in the bistro, Sean declares to Eileen, Mary and Glenda that he’s putting Dylan first by swearing off men.

However Dylan orders his dad to meet Laurence. And he's proven right as, over drinks in the bistro, Sean and Laurence get on famously.
Elsewhere on the soap the recently widowed Toyah Battersby finds herself back in the arms of her ex Spider Nugent. She finds out that Spider has been arrested during a protest and calls at the police station where he is released with a slap on the wrist.
Toyah leans in for a kiss. Spider reciprocates and allows Toyah to lead him to the bedroom. Later, Toyah’s beset by guilt and asks Spider to leave.
When Abi Franklin calls to check on Toyah she blurts out she’s just slept with her ex and Abi assures Toyah she’s just grieving. Meanwhile Leanne is uneasy to find Toyah in the Rovers with Spider, worried she’s falling for him.
But it seems he's hiding something as, outside on the street, Spider answers his mobile. He tells the caller he’s been up to his eyes and can’t wait to get back.
