Superstar singer Lizzo was taken aback when she was asked about her friendship with Harry Styles during her guest appearance on The One Show. The Grammy Award-winning star was asked about 'being mates' with the Watermelon Sugar singer on the BBC chat show.
The 34-year-old Truth Hurts singer recently joined Harry on stage during his set at Coachella 2022. They delivered renditions of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and One Direction‘s What Makes You Beautiful at the festival in California.
Lizzo, who appeared by via video link, was asked by host Gethin Jones: "You're mates now with Harry Styles. How come you're mates with Harry?" But it appeared the meaning of the word 'mates' may have been taken the wrong way as Lizzo looked surprised.

"How come I'm mates with Harry..." she said as the American R&B star burst out laughing. And Gethin apologised for the confusion. "Sorry, that's the English terminology," he clarified.
Trying again he asked: "Did you become mates with Harry recently?" And Lizzo explained that they had covered each others' songs and become 'fast friends.'
In another awkward moment Lizzo looked impassive when it was brought up that she had previously met fellow guest Sara Cox, who was seated on the famous sofa in the studio. A photo was beamed up of Lizzo and Radio One drivetime host Sara together at the Brit Awards 2019.
But from the look on Lizzo's face she evidently didn't remember their meeting. Sara said: "I'm sure she'll tell you all about it. She'll definitely remember..." And clocking the look on her face she said: "Look at that face."
